ESIPL evaluates & conducts feasibility study of all its project. There are several steps which is followed by ESIPL to do the evaluation & feasibility study of any energy saving project.
Prior to a walk-through audit, ESIPL will ask Client information about the facility(in case of Hotels, hospitals, commercial buildings), heat sources (in case of WHR), Heating – Cooling requirements (in case of CHP or CCHP), including utility billing information from at least the most current 12-month period (data covering the past two years is better). Utility data may include electricity, natural gas and water consumption records as appropriate.This data is analyzed to establish the energy utilization index (EUI) of the facility. ESIPL has its proprietary simple Data Request Sheet (DRS) for specific interventions.
On the basis of data received ESIPL conducts a walk-through energy audit of the facility with the facility representative to determine the general scope and size of the project. During the development of the preliminary audit, energy baseline development and M&V methods will be discussed. ESIPL and the Client will review and agree with the methods proposed.
The purpose of the preliminary audit is to determine if a potential project exists and, to identify potential Energy Efficiency Measures. This is also the time to evaluate equipment data-logging opportunities and verify the data provided by the client.
Once ESIPL, and the Client are satisfied that there is adequate energy-saving potential in the facility, the next step is to move to the investment-grade audit. ESIPL will develop an LoI cum audit proposal that will include the systems to be evaluated, the timeline to complete the investment-grade audit.
The investment-grade audit is to analyze all the key intervention areas as identified in the audit proposal. The audit will evaluate the technical & economic performance and the investment value of the EEMs.
Upon receiving Client approval to go forward with the specific proposal, ESIPL will then proceed to conduct a detailed investment grade energy audit of the facility(s)/equipment and submit an investment grade audit and energy services proposal to the Client for review and approval.
